Aka East Donegal Mill/Wolgemuth Mill

Captain John Galbraith built the first mill on this site on the road to Anderson’s Ferry. Heinrich Schaerr (Henry Share) acquired the property in 1794 and built the current mill in 1804. The mill became the Wolgemuth Mill when Hiram Wolgemuth bought the property in 1904. Milling operations ended in 1931.
Later, the building was used as a hatchery, and currently as a workshop. An interesting feature of this mill is a 300-foot tunnel that brought the water from the headrace under the road and into the mill.
