Aka Marietta Mill

Abraham Stouffer built the first mill on this site around the time of the American Revolution. Jacob Kreybill acquired the property in 1783 and built the mansion house in 1790. Jacob Kraybill, Jr. built the current brick structure in 1830. Milling operations ended in 1925 when Hiram Wolgemuth and Elmer Strickler purchased the mill primarily to preserve the water rights to their mill downstream.
In 1967, Franklin and Joanne Zink opened the site as the Donegal Mills Plantation. They opened a museum in the mill and the site served as a venue for an annual Scots-Irish celebration. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The Zink’s opened a restaurant in the mill in 1982. The restaurant closed in 1995.
Today, the mill and house are part of an Amish farm.
