Johannes Stauffer built the first mill at this location as early as 1750. It remained in the Stauffer family for over 100 years until it was sold to Henry Connelly in 1857. Milling ended when it was destroyed by fire in 1925. The current cement block building was built in 1929 and now serves as a wood shop.
