Benjamin Steamant built a sawmill here in the 1800s. The mill was later converted to a grist mill. In 1881, it collapsed under the weight of the grain that was stored in the upper floors. It was rebuilt, only to be destroyed by fire a few years later. Samuel Kafroth rebuilt the mill in 1885.
In 1924, this mill produced 6,000 barrels of flour. Today, it is part of the Millport Conservancy. The mill dam has been removed and the Lititz Run has been restored to its original stream bed. It now is a popular trout stream and hiking area.
