Maple Grove Mill

Aka Abbeville Mill

Maple Grove Mill

This mill has had a long history beginning in 1717 when Hans and Anna Brubaker built the first mill. After a fire destroyed the mill in 1767, John and Barbara Stoner built the current structure.

The mill entered a new chapter when Aaron Summy opened West End Park on the property. This later became known as Maple Grove park and was a popular destination during the early to mid-20th century.

The mill languished after the park closed and it was taken over by Lancaster Township. Ecklin Development acquired the mill in 2002 but before renovations could be completed, a fire gutted the structure. The building has been repaired and currently stands empty. For more details, see my blog entry about this mill here: Mill Monday 02 – Maple Grove.

This mill is located at 1501 Lincoln Highway West, Lancaster, PA.
