Aka Pugh’s Mill

John Kendrick built the first mill here circa 1758. A fire destroyed the first mill in 1845. Joseph and John Herr rebuilt the mill in 1851. The mill burned again in 1889. This time Samuel Pugh rebuilt the mill and continued operations. The Lancaster Milling Company operated the mill during the 20th century under the name “Daisy Flour Mill”. The mill ceased using water power in 1971 and closed in 1980. Today, it houses the Evan’s Candy store. The company website is https://www.evanscandy.com/.
The mill is located on Hollinger Road behind 2100 Willow Street Pike.
