Bowmansville Roller Mill

Aka Von Nieda Mill


Christian Good built the first mill here in 1737. The Good’s built a new mill in 1780. Henry Von Nieda bought that mill in 1851 and built the current fieldstone structure in 1854. The Von Nieda’s operated the mill until operations ended in 1945.

This mill is one of only two mills in the county that remain fully operational. The Historic Preservation Trust opens the mill to the public one day per year in the spring.
