Windom Mill

Windom Mill
The Windom cider mill is located in Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The original mill on this site was built in 1763. The current, stone mill was built in 1810. The mill was powered by an overshot wheel fed from the West Branch of the Little Conestoga Creek.

Samuel Herr built the first mill at this location in 1779. Jacob Kauffman took over the following year. A fire destroyed that first mill in 1810 but it was rebuilt. It began operating as a cider mill in 1890 and was used for a while as a creamery. The Windom post office opened in the mill in 1899. In the 20th century, it produced corn meal to be used in the manufacture of linoleum. Today it is used for farm storage and the lower level is rented privately as a small event venue.

The mill is located at 3407 Blue Rock Road, Lancaster, PA.
