Aka Groff’s Mill

Henry Funk built the first mill at this site in 1771. Benjamin Herr built a new mill in 1811. Ephraim Hershey rebuilt the mill after it was destroyed by a fire in 1830. The mill was damaged by fire again in 1882 and was restored by Isaac Groff. It acquired the name “Lake Mill” because of its large mill pond. The mill operated as Miller and Bushong when it closed in the 1950s. The building got another life in the 1960s when Guy and Sally Starry opened the Country Mill Restaurant on the premises.
The mills sustained damages during Hurricane Agnes in 1972 but reopened for a while as “Country Mill 1770”. The mill currently serves as an event venue named “The Mill at Manor Falls”. See their website at https://themillatmanorfalls.com/.
The mill is located at 380 Old Blue Rock Road, Millersville, PA.
