John Shop (Shoup / Shupp / Sharp) built the first mill here in 1750. Jacob Von Nieda bought the property in 1785. Philip Von Nieda built the current building in 1818. Milling operations ended in 1926. Admitted to the National Registry in 1997, the mill now stands vacant.
